Finance tips - paying your bills with the right cash

Everyone has bills, right? Well, unfortunately, bills are a part of life that we all need to face. However, there are ways to pay our bills that will make it easier on us in the long run. One of the most important things that you can do for yourself when it comes to paying your bills is to make sure that you have a fairly large amount of cash in savings for an emergency. But, if you are anything like most people, these savings tend to shrink when times get tough. It is really easy to spend savings without putting it back, especially when you are not making as much!

Well, in order to keep your savings where they are, practice spending “the right cash” for bills. The right cash to use is the cash that is coming in. So, let’s say that you owe $400 for rent. A lot of people would pay that out of their savings, and then plan on putting the money back into their savings when they get the cash. But more often than not, they never do put it back… and their savings shrink as a result. So, instead of paying out of your savings, try to pay out of your petty cash, or out of your paycheck. It might leave you with no spending cash, and only a few bucks to live on until Friday, but at least you will pay the bill and keep your savings safe.

If you use this method, you can always pull out $10 to buy gas with from your savings, because this is not nearly as hard to pay back as a $400 rent payment! This is a great way to keep yourself on top of the situation. It might seem like you have no cash all of the time, but in reality, you are spending less and saving your extra cash for emergencies.
